Relationship Therapy Sydney & Online
You may notice patterns in how you relate—ways of connecting, reacting, or protecting yourself that repeat, even when you want things to be different.
Relationships can bring closeness, but also trigger old feelings of hurt, fear, or disconnection. This can show up as conflict, withdrawal, overthinking, or difficulty expressing what you need.
I work with individuals rather than couples, helping you understand your own internal patterns so you can relate differently—with others and with yourself.
How Therapy Works
I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy to explore the different parts of you that show up in relationships.
Some parts may push for connection, while others hold back or protect you from getting hurt. These patterns often developed for good reasons, even if they no longer serve you in the same way.
Rather than trying to change behaviour on the surface, we look beneath it—understanding the emotions and parts driving your responses.
As this happens, you begin to respond with more clarity, balance, and choice.
What This Can Help With
Relationship conflict or recurring patterns
Difficulty communicating needs or boundaries
Emotional reactivity or shutdown
Over-giving or people-pleasing
Feeling disconnected or misunderstood
A Different Way of Relating
In IFS, we don’t take sides or blame parts of you for how they show up.
Instead, we create space for understanding and compassion, allowing protective patterns to soften over time.
Because this work is focused on you as an individual, it often creates meaningful shifts in how you show up across all your relationships.
This can lead to:
clearer communication
stronger boundaries
more secure and balanced relationships
