Compassionate Therapist with Lived Experience

My name is Crawf Weir. I work as an IFS therapist and PACFA-registered clinical counsellor based in North Sydney, and I have spent the past seven years in practice. I bring both professional training and lived experience into sessions, allowing clients to feel safely met, deeply listened to, and genuinely understood. My role is not to push for change, but to be with you, calmly, attentively, and compassionately, as your inner world begins to make sense.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years in the creative and printing industries as a designer, manager, and company director. I understand the pressures of performance, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and burnout, as well as the quiet exhaustion that comes from holding everything together while trying to appear capable and strong.

When I turned 40, I felt the need for a fundamental shift and took a new path. I trained as a yoga teacher and opened a small studio, a journey that later led to Zen meditation and eventually to Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy.

Today I hold master's degrees in both business and professional counselling. I am a Level 2 trained IFS therapist. Level 2 training through the IFS Institute involves advanced supervised clinical work, with a deeper application of the model to trauma, relational dynamics, and complex presentations. You can verify my training on the IFS Institute practitioner directory and view my Psychology Today profile. My PACFA registration number is 16179. If you are curious about what the different levels of IFS training involve, I have written about what that distinction means and why it matters. If you’d like, you can read more about IFS therapy in Sydney and what sessions involve.

But qualifications are only relevant to a certain point. What is more important is the quality of presence, patience, persistence and perspective I bring as your therapist.

I work with individuals navigating trauma, relationship difficulties, anxiety, addiction, and life transitions. Sessions are available in person at my North Sydney office and online for clients anywhere in Australia. If you are not sure whether this is the right fit, a free 15-minute intro call is the easiest place to start.

If you are navigating something difficult, you do not have to do it alone. I will be right there with you, offering steady, compassionate support as you find your way home.
